How To Regulate Your Amygdala That Drives Success
Why High Performers Understand Their Amygdala
You know what separates successful CEOs, Olympic athletes, and visionary entrepreneurs from everyone else? It's not some secret they're keeping from you. It's science. Actually, it's a tiny almond-shaped part of your brain called the amygdala, and if yours is constantly activated, you're basically self-sabotaging every goal you set.
I'm a brain cancer researcher, and I'm telling you right now: everything in your life comes from your brain. Full stop! When your amygdala is dysregulated, your entire body goes into chaos. You're stuck in fight-or-flight mode, and guess what? You can't make good decisions when your nervous system thinks you're being chased by a bear.
The Amygdala: Your Brain's Danger Detector
This tiny part of your brain regulates way more than you think. We're talking about emotions, behaviors, memories, learning—both conscious and unconscious—and that immediate danger response that kept our ancestors alive.

When you can ride a bike after 20 years of not touching one, that's your amygdala. When you have a panic attack out of nowhere, that's also your amygdala.

Here's what most people don't get: What is the reason of anxiety disorders, PTSD, panic attacks, phobias?  Your amygdala is overactive, period. And when it's activated constantly, you're blocked from reaching your goals. You want to achieve things but you can't, and you don't even know why. More likely than not, your amygdala is dysregulated.
How I Discovered This After Nearly Dying
Let me be real with you. I developed severe panic attacks after a viral infection overseas in January 2019 (I've told this story many times on my Youtube channel), shut down my lungs and my nose - I couldn't breath whatsoever! I was hospitalized three times. I thought "that's it!" - I literally thought I was dying. And you know what? No 'physician' could help me. I went to endless, hand-picked, specialists at Harvard. They just wanted to throw medications at symptoms without addressing the cause.
So I had to figure this out myself. I had to save my own life. I developed techniques to calm my amygdala, and I transformed my medical PTSD into post-traumatic growth (PTG). Journaling saved my life. You hear me?! I am serious.

You can literally see it from my face in my first ever LIVE, 30-day #JournalWithMeChallenge on my Youtube channel in 2023 (PS: We will do another one starting October 1st, 2025 - so get ready, get your 'My Inner Royalty' journal ASAP through Amazon by clicking the button below).

I further made sure that I consistently do deep breathing exercises. And so much more (hence, the birth of my 4-week, personalized Scientist's Total Health Transformation Program™ calming mental, physical, and emotional symptoms using zero medication!). And no, these are definitely not just "feel-good" activities. I'm telling you: I've done all of these activities with purpose to save my life! And they did! Why? Because they are scientifically proven methods to regulate your amygdala and all other parts of your brain and body.

The Clarity Solution: Science-Backed Goal Setting
Neuroscientists at the University of Texas discovered something huge: clarity reduces amygdala activity. When you have clear goals written down in black and white, your anxiety decreases and your decision-making improves dramatically. Harvard Business Review found that employees with clear goals were 3.6 times more likely to be high performers.
This is why I use SMART goals—Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound. Break your big scary mountain into tiny hills you can actually climb.
My Tip: Write everything in a to-do list the night before. When you finish a task, check it off with a red pen. That visual confirmation triggers your brain's reward system, which is also regulated by the amygdala.

Your 10-Minute Daily Reset
Watch Olympic swimmers before a race—they're wearing huge headphones, calming themselves down. Athletes know this instinctively. You have to regulate your amygdala first, or your body stays in disarray and you can't perform.
Ten minutes of deep breathing every morning. That's scientifically proven to reduce amygdala activity. Journal your thoughts to dump them out of your brain. When you externalize what's swirling inside, that part of your brain stops being occupied by constant worry.
If you're experiencing sweating, faster pulse, rapid breathing, or that fight-or-flight feeling constantly, your amygdala is activated. You just need to regulate it. And once you do? You'll finally achieve the success you've been working toward all along.
