I am a living example of this. I've been a cancer scientist for 25 years, worked with cancer patients for almost 13 years, and I'm known for saving lives. Why? Because knowledge - or the lack of it - literally kills people.
Two real examples from my work:
Example 1: The German Breast Cancer Patient
In 2015, we saved a triple-negative breast cancer patient from Germany. She's been cancer-free for 10 years. After chemotherapy and surgery, she got radiotherapy. She's also a heavy smoker.
I told her: "You MUST not smoke. You cannot smoke after radiotherapy because it can turn into lung cancer."
You know what the nurse in Germany told her? "Just be easy on it. You don't have to quit completely, just smoke a little bit."
EXCUSE ME?
I showed this woman a textbook from Harvard Medical School - a breast cancer book with everything about breast cancer from decades of research. It's RIGHT THERE in the goddamn book: Do not smoke after radiotherapy after breast cancer treatment because you can get lung cancer.
This is textbook knowledge. What did that nurse study?
Example 2: The Harvard Hospital Patient
We brought an elderly patient with aggressive blood cancer into clinical trials at a Harvard hospital. Two clinical trials with cancer immunotherapy. He survived.
Then I found out he was drinking a beer every single evening during the clinical trials.
I asked him: "Are you seriously drinking alcohol every evening while you're in this clinical trial?"
He almost got offended. And the nurse or "case manager" (!) at this Harvard hospital for this clinical trial said, "You better not, but you know..." Not radically saying "You HAVE to stop this."
These are nurses even at Harvard. This is why you need to be at the top of your knowledge game.
The bottom line: You don't have to go to university. This Harvard Medical School book is available in any public library for FREE. You can get it, read it, and then smash it in the face of the nurse or MD who's giving you wrong information.
That's the power of knowledge. Lack of knowledge kills. Knowledge saves lives.

Now let's talk about fake health gurus. I've been calling out fake tarot readers, fake astrologers, fake spiritual gurus, fake psychologists for years. Now I need to address a fake health guru who's been copying me for a year.
She's from Canada. She's a massage therapist. Fine. But then she gets a Reiki healing certificate. Then suddenly she's a "health coach" selling overpriced programs.
Here's what drives me crazy:
She uses Chat GPT to write everything. EVERYTHING. Her posts, her content, all of it is AI-generated.
Listen, I taught ethics at MIT to scientists. I'm invited to conferences to talk about responsible AI and ethical AI in healthcare. I know what I'm talking about.
When you're a health coach but you use AI to write your content and you haven't healed your own body first - just look in the mirror. What does your day-to-day lifestyle look like?
I can look at any person - male, female, child, adult, elderly - and tell you their day-to-day habits just by looking at their body. You cannot fake that to a scientist who does this for a living.
